An incredible German amethyst, pearl, and enameled necklace from the Arts & Crafts (ca1910) era! This magnificent piece, crafted in sterling silver, has a decorative festoon-style design and features an elaborate two-part centerpiece, hanging from each other by a delicate silver chain. The connected links feature circular cutouts, faceted amethysts and lovely round pearls, all bezel-set within a leafy and floral motif. In the middle of each piece is a square, bezel-set blister pearl surrounded by a beautiful burnt red and royal blue floral enamel design which can also be found at the top of the pendant. Found along the edge and throughout the centerpiece are lovely round silver beads along with three beautiful elongated natural pearls freely dangling from the bottom of the piece, with one at the center and two flanked on either side. The wonderful pendant hangs from a simple silver chain which is complimented by two short sections of draped chain on either side, adding to the dramatic design. The necklace fastens at a spring ring clasp at the back and both links are stamped "STERLING" and "GERMANY" on the underside. A spectacular example of Arts & Crafts era jewelry, this outstanding necklace drapes beautifully at the neckline and has quite a spectacular, dramatic effect. It would make a magnificent addition to any collection!
