A stunning agate ring from the Arts & Crafts (ca1910) era! This lovely mixed metals piece features a gorgeous dendritic agate (also called "moss agate") stone resting at the center of a decorative band. The smoothly polished navette-shaped stone features two natural moss-like inclusions floating inside of a milky background. Fine milgrain decorates the top edge of the bezel, and a wonderful embossed pattern rests at the bottom. Two feminine bows topped with a 10kt yellow gold overlay rest at either shoulder, creating a wonderful two-tone appeal. A smooth band extends to the back, and stamped inside of the shank is "STERLING," "10K," and the maker's mark "c & c." A wonderful example of the Arts & Crafts era aesthetic, this beautiful ring makes a perfect statement piece!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 4.5, but could easily be resized. The navette-shaped centerpiece measures approximately 7/8" tall, is a little less than 1/4" wide, and rests a little less than 1/8" above the finger when worn.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver or gold setting. The agate stone is intact and securely set. There is a natural darkened patina to some areas of the setting, which is normal given the age of the piece, and adds to its beauty and character.
